ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Owings Mills High School opened in 1979 as a junior-senior high school with a student enrollment of around 700 students. Over the years, the Owings Mills area became a growth area for Baltimore County. After experiencing a rise in the student enrollment to approximately 1400 students, the current student enrollment rests at just over 1,000 students.
Owings Mills High School is an ESOL-center high school. The student population is rich in diversity. The school motto is “Owings Mills High School Celebrating Excellence Through Diversity” to reflect the many varied cultural backgrounds of our students.
We hold high expectations for our students. Owings Mills High School ranks in the top 5% of public high schools in the nation for students taking rigorous courses and exams. Students graduate from Owings Mills High School prepared for college, a career or entry into the military.
To support the education program, students take advantage of:
- 2 library/media computer labs, 2 business computer labs, 1 technology computer lab, 1 art/journalism computer lab, mobile cart labs, and many mini computer labs in classrooms.
- Television/broadcast studio
- Lecture Hall
- Library/media center with 15,966 volumes and 11 periodicals
- Greenhouse
- Long-distance learning lab
The school is fully accessible to the disabled and is equipped with a security surveillance system. The campus is complete with playing fields for football, soccer, field hockey, baseball, softball and lacrosse.

Graduates of Owings Mills High School will have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to reach their potential as responsible, productive citizens in a global economy and multicultural society.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Owings Mills High School is to guarantee a program of academic excellence that addresses both the needs of students and an ever-evolving society. As part of a multicultural student body, all students will be empowered to become responsible, self-directed lifelong learners who respect others and appreciate diversity. Our commitment to developing a true learning community will provide students with an opportunity to cultivate intellectual, physical, and social capacity in order to enhance talents and acquire the skills necessary to become positively contributing members to our society. In partnership with family and community, our focus is to consistently deliver excellence in teaching and learning while providing a safe and caring learning environment.
