Who We Are

"Learning With and From Each Other"

Our Mission Statement:

Cedarmere Elementary School values a safe and positive learning environment. Faculty and staff focus on providing students with stimulating experiences that encourage educational excellence while promoting high self-esteem and respect for the uniqueness of others.

In 1971, Cedarmere opened its doors to Baltimore County students. Our mission is to create an environment designed to nurture and develop those human qualities and cognitive abilities essential to our students’ personal fulfillment and academic success.

As we enter the 21st century we continue to point Cedarmere’s students toward a path of lifelong learning. This endeavor requires the total commitment of our dedicated staff, the involvement and interest of parents, and, of course, motivated children. Our motto, Learning With and From Each Other, is expressed in action every day as we strive to increase achievement. This is accomplished through a sound and effective curriculum, as well as in-depth technology and arts programs found only at Cedarmere.

An outstanding school nestled in northwest Baltimore County, Cedarmere Elementary serves families from the Reisterstown and Owings Mills communities. Our student population is diverse, reflecting the wide variety of socioeconomic and ethnic groups in the area.

Through a unique spirit of cooperation and dedication, we at Cedarmere have enabled our students to develop their individual talents, grow both socially and intellectually, and meet the challenges of a changing tomorrow.

Arts on Wheels

“Arts on Wheels” is a continuation of our arts integration program formally known as Arts Excel. Through visits by musicians from the BSO and other talented artists from a variety of disciplines, students are reintroduced to concepts from their classroom curriculum using movement, music, and theatre arts. Our goal is to extend and refine curriculum in the areas of math, science, reading, and social studies in a way that both captivates and motivates our students. In order for this program to be self sustaining, we rely on the support of our parents through their participation in fund-raising efforts throughout the year. Due to your support we are able to bring the best and the most to Cedarmere’s students.
