The Maryland State Department of Education provides valuable and worthwhile information about family literacy programs. Many articles on their website give parents ideas to help children succeed in school. There are also links to interactive programs that are engaging and instructional for you and your children.

Log on to http://www.msde.state.md.us and visit Take 15 for the Family and Family Literacy. Pay particular attention to SCHOOL SUCCESS IDEAS FOR PARENTS - IDEA OF THE DAY and SCHOOL SUCCESS LIBRARY. Under Links, go to Between the Lions...National Center for Family Literacy/PBS. You'll find wonderful stories to read, games to play, and terrific vocabulary activities.
