News from the Good Neighbor Club

Chatsworth School’s Good Neighbor Club is back in action! This
energetic group is comprised of fourth and fifth graders from our Ocean
Team. The purpose of this club is to teach anti-bullying strategies, improve
overall school-wide etiquette, and increase awareness of ways to help those
in need in our community and beyond.

Our first project has been Trick or Treat for UNICEF, or Kids
Helping Kids. We wish to extend our thanks to all who have contributed to
this worthy cause. We will continue to collect donations until Nov. 1. Checks
may be made payable to US Fund for UNICEF for those who prefer to make
a donation by check. We will be announcing our total donation amount in next
month’s newsletter.

During the week of November 5, all of Chatsworth School will be
celebrating Good Neighbor Week. During the week, the children will be
engaging in a variety of activities designed to emphasize kindness and
friendship skills. Our theme for the week will be “Say Something,” a
strategy many of the older children will be learning to help them deal with
bullies and unkind behavior. We encourage you to talk to your child about
steps they can take when they, or someone they know, is being teased or
bullied. Some on-line resources that you might find helpful are:
