Flacco
Jersey
As mentioned in last week's email, Joe Flacco
was accomodating enough to autograph a jersey for the PTA to auction
off to raise money for the school. We would like to provide all
parents with an equal opportunity to participate in this event.
The fundraiser will kick off during American Education Week. Parents
will be able to purchase a chance to win the autographed jersey.
Details will be available as you enter the school for American
Education Week.
This fundraiser will be different than most
we do for the school. Usually, the PTA holds all funds in the
treasury until the end of the school year and presents the school
with a check for the total amount raised at the end of the year.
For this fundraiser, all money collected will be automatically
donated to the school for their discretionary use. If you have
any questions, please email chatsworthpta@yahoo.com.

| Cookbooks
A couple of years ago, Mrs. Braveman put together a book of recipes.
There are still several books remaining. If you are interested
in purchasing this cookbook, you may stop by the media center
or email Mrs. Braverman. The cost is $5.00. |
| Chatsworth
PTA on Facebook
If you subscribe to the social network site, Facebook, you may
want to check out a recently started group called "Parents
of Chatsworth Elementary School." This group was recently
started by one of the new parents to the school. It contains information
related to parent activities only. Please note that no school
related activities can be included on the site, as it is not a
school-sanctioned site. If you wish to include any parent-related
information on the site, please email chatsworthpta@yahoo.com. |
| PTA
Return Check Policy
Once or twice per year, we like to provide a reminder about the
PTA Return Check policy. The PTA is happy to accept personal checks
from parents for the various fundraisers that we sponsor during
the year. However, we have had instances over the years where
checks are inadvertantly returned to us for insufficient funds.
The bank charges the Chatsworth PTA $25.00 for every returned
check, a fee we certainly cannot afford to absorb because it takes
away from our mission of raising funds to support the school's
needs. Therefore, it is our policy to pass the $25.00 service
charge onto the parent. Please be cognizant of this policy, and
please honor your responsibility to reimburse the PTA if we infom
you that your check was returned. Absent parent cooperation, the
PTA reserves the right to refuse payment by check from offenders
of the policy.
