Welcome to the Chesapeake Terrace Elementary School website. As principal let me share that the staff and I are looking forward to your being a part of our school family. 

Chesapeake Terrace Elementary School is one of the smallest elementary schools in Baltimore County that reflects the charm of the Sparrow’s Point community nestled near the banks of the Chesapeake Bay. We are very proud of our reputation as a school that cares deeply about every child and keeps children as the main focus in every endeavor.

At CTE there is a constant focus on student potential that is exemplified by the school motto: “Creating Limitless Possibilities.” Lessons are designed to meet students' individual learning styles and specific academic needs. Programs, aligned to state and system initiatives, are used to expose our students to careers and opportunities in their future as well as to develop lifelong learners.

Through positive behavior, the school mascot “Chessie the Tiger”, reminds students to have “Paw Pride” by displaying Responsible, Cooperative, Respectful, and Safe behavior. Our positive incentive program reinforces the pillars of character education that we believe are important to creating a climate that is safe and orderly and conducive to maximizing high levels of student achievement.  Everyone strives to make Chesapeake Terrace Elementary School the best it can be.

In working to provide the very best instructional program, staff members, parents, and community members support a variety of programs designed to promote the academic and social growth of our students. Together staff members strive to improve the academic achievement and the personal growth of all students by providing access to programs for challenged learners, and special education students while at the same time challenging those who are ready to stretch their current knowledge and skills through enrichment and acceleration.
