Frequently asked questions of the Administration:

How do I find out if my child will attend EHES?
Please call the Boundary Office at 410-887-4216
OR: go to www.bcps.org/apps/boundaries

What information is needed to register my child?
You will need the following information at the time of registration

  1. your child's:
    -Birth certificate
    -Immunizations records
    -Social security card
  2. Maryland Driver's license or MD state ID at your current address.
  3. Proof of residency : you must have the original of one of these exact items with you:
    Lease/rental agreement from realtor, management company or a lease/rental agreement from private party owner (documents establishing ownership of property by private party owner must be submitted), deed, settlement papers, mortgage statement, or real estate tax bill showing your name and address. If you do not have a lease in you name, please contact Ernest Miles, Residency officer, at 410-887-7474. You must have the approval form from Mr. Miles at the time of registration. Three additional items with your name and address are also required at the time of registration: (ex: current credit card bill, bank statement, utility or cable bill, voter registration card, MVA registration)
    We will only copy your name and address. Confidential information will be blocked out.
  4. Registration form and emergency cards (complete both sides and sign).
  5. Medical forms.

How do I add money to my child's lunch account?
Forms are available in the main office. If you do not have a form at home please write a note enclosed with the money to the Cafeteria manager, indicating your child's name, teacher, number of lunches, breakfasts or cash account. Make checks payable to EHES Cafeteria.

What time is breakfast served?
Students may enter the building at 8:25 am. Breakfast ends at 8:40 am.

What time does school begin?
Students enter the building at 8:40 am -- instructions begins at 8:50 am

What time does school end?
3:10 pm- Bus riders dismissed
3:15 pm- 2nd floor walkers dismissed
3:20 pm- 1st floor walkers dismissed

If school opens one hour late, what time should students arrive?
Students may enter the building at 9:40 and classes begin at 9:50

If school opens 2 hours late?
Students may enter the building at 10:40 --classes begin at 10:50
No Breakfast served.

If school closes 2 hours early, what time will the students leave school?
School will dismiss at 1:10 pm
Lunch will be served

When will I know what class my child will be in for the new school year?
Notices will be posted in school windows in August, the week before school opens.

Does EHES have a Pre-Kindergarten program?
Yes, we have registration in the Spring. Parents will be notified by mail if your child has/has not been accepted into the program. Our program is held daily with both AM session (8:40-11:10) & PM session from 12:40-3:10.

Yes

How do I call the nurse directly?

How should I send in medication for my child?
Medication MUST NOT be sent in with your child. You must bring it in along with written instructions from your child's doctor or nurse practitioner, along with your written permission.

Can I send cough drops to school with my child?
There is no need to send cough drops if you signed a Consent for Administration of Discretionary Medication form. That form allows the nurse to dispense acetaminophen (Tylenol), cough drops, antacid tablets (Tums) diphenhydramine(Benadryl) and for children older than 12 years of age, ibuprofen ( Advil, Motrin)

Pre K students who are 3 and 4 years old are required to have at least on shot of pneumococcal vaccine (Prevnar/PVC7)
