Your PTA at Work

Do you know what the Halethorpe PTA does?  Would you like to become a member or a volunteer?  Below is a listing, some with links, of various activities that your PTA has sponsored.

If you are interested in supporting by membership, please see the section below.  If you are interested in volunteers, please attend a monthly meeting or see the volunteer section to the right.

PTA Membership

Halethorpe Elementary School has an active and dedicated Parent-Teacher Association. The PTA’s mission is to create a bridge between the school and home, as well as to secure supplies for the school that are not provided by the school’s budget.

We are encouraging every parent to become a member of the PTA.  The cost for the year 2009-2010 membership is just $6.00. Please fill out the small brown envelope that is attached to the PTA membership letter and return it with $6.00 to school.  Checks can be made payable to Halethorpe Elementary PTA.

HES PTA raises money for cultural events such as educational assemblies throughout the year.  In addition, we support our drama club, student of the month awards, MSA testing, American Education Week, Grandparent’s Day, Staff Appreciation Week, individual classroom needs and Sponsored Family Nights.

This year our fundraising efforts will include Razen Unlimited, Chick Fil-A nights, Market Day and a Fall Movie night.

Thanks for your continued support and we hope to see you at our meetings this year.

For further information about Halethorpe’s PTA please contact the school at 410-887-1406.
