The My Project

The My Project is a creative partnership in the visual arts project between Sandy Plains Elementary School in Dundalk, Maryland and The Gateway Primary School in Oxford, England.  Our students created mixed media collages on the theme: My Life.  Students used digital camera to take pictures of people, places, and things they feel are important in their lives.  In technology, students used Photo Draw to enhance, crop and modify the photographs.  In art, students then manually cropped and matted their photos and creatively added them onto their boards.  They designed a creative background and painted it using colors of their choice.  Students then added drawings and embellishments that describe their life.  Finally, students wrote Artist Statements to explain their work to viewers.
