Mission Statement
We, at Summit Park, believe that all students can learn and be
successful. We promise to work together to provide a quality
student-based program and treat people with respect. We provide
students with a supportive, caring environment that develops self-esteem,
self-motivation, and a sense of responsibility. We strive to provide
every opportunity for maximum student achievement and to recognize and
stimulate special talents in all students. Our major goal is to
prepare students to become productive members of the community. We
believe that education is a cooperative effort among home, school and
community. SPE
History Summit
Park Elementary School is located in Northwest Baltimore County. It
was originally built on the Waitman B. Zinn goat farm.
Summit Park adopted "Timmus" the goat as our mascot to represent
the school's history. Although
the land was purchased by Baltimore County in 1964, the school did not
open its doors until 1966. The
thirteen-classroom school known as Summit Park was to become an important
structure in the community. The
opening of Summit Park gave the community a central place to meet.
Today Summit Park continues to support the growth of the surrounding
community.
