Kindergarten Supply List

The children in Kindergarten will need the following:

• A bookbag or backpack - Please have your child choose one the he/she can handle all alone. Try to avoid anything with a lot of buckles or overlapping rings to fasten. Make sure that it is big enough to hold a folder. Please tape an emergency information card inside the bookbag/backpack.
  
• A pocket folder - This will be used daily to bring home notices, papers done in class, school newsletters, etc.. PLEASE CHECK THIS FOLDER DAILY.
  
• Three JUMBO SIZED gluesticks for Sept.-Nov.; three more JUMBO gluesticks for Dec.-Feb.; three more JUMBO gluesticks for Mar.-May. Please put your child's name on each gluestick. The Kindergarten children use these gluesticks daily. Just send in the first set of 3 gluesticks initially; reminders will be sent as the next sets are needed.
  
  
• One box of 8 "fat" crayons in the basic colors only. Please do not send in larger boxes, glow in the dark, neon, glitter etc..
• One pair of metal safety scissors, like the small fiskars for children.
• One small bottle 4 oz. Bottle of Elmer's or Elmer's School Glue. (NO colors please)
• Two packages of 3X5 index cards - lined or unlined. Please hole one package of these cards on the LEFT CENTER, as these will go on the word rings. The second set will be used for homework cards.
  
  
• One Red and one Blue folder with the FASTENERS inside - Please buy the regular folders with fasteners. No Binders OR PALSTIC COVER FOLDERS. These folders will be used for color coded alphabet and homework books for the children.
• One black and white "marbled" composition book - this will be your child's journal for writing.
• Three pencils that are already sharpened and ready for use.
• A plastic school box (without a handle) - please put the 3 JUMBO gluesticks, crayons, scissors, Elmer's glue and pencils INSIDE OF THIS SCHOOL BOX. Please put your child's name on ALL OF THESE SUPPLIES in the school box. In class, this plastic schoolbox will be kept in a labeled shoe box that we will provide fot the children.
• Children with last names starting A through P - Please bring in one box of the GALLON sized reclosable plastic bags (like Ziploc). Children with last names beginning with Q through Z - Please bring in one box of boutique size tissues.
• A small, recent photograph of your child.

We would greatly appreciate it if all supplies could be brought on the first day of Gradual Admissions when you and your child come to school together!
