Baltimore County DSS is proud to be part of this innovative
collaboration. BCoDSS believes in a comprehensive, integrated
response to the educational, social and emotional needs
of children and their families.
The goal of the BCoDSS Bridge Center program is to
assist students in becoming socially, emotionally and
academically successful, while achieving stability within
their school, home and community environments, with
the ultimate goal of helping students reach their full
potential.
The program provides an integrated social work service
in the Bridge Center and its feeder schools which meets
the child welfare priorities of the Baltimore County
Department of Social Services, and offers a program
in which students receive the support, counseling, and
social skills they need in order to succeed within their
community school environments.
Services offered include:
- individual counseling
- family counseling
- group counseling
- home/group home visitation
- case management
- referral to community resources
- consultation with other professionals involved
with the student
- classroom instruction in social skills development,
including anger management, conflict resolution and
communication
- summer programming and continuation of counseling
services
