The College Center, located inside the library, offers a wide range of college-related publications, and computer terminals for student use. Chesapeake’s fulltime college counselor is dedicated to promoting a college-going culture, and providing support to students and their families as they work towards the goal of higher education. The college counselor is available to meet with students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom setting to help guide them through the process of preparing for and applying to colleges and other post-secondary schools. Throughout the year, several evening programs for parents are offered through the College Center on topics such as preparing for college entrance exams, choosing rigorous, college-preparatory classes, navigating the application process, and obtaining financial aid.
