Below you will find the technology at CHS that we embed in our learning processes.
Virtual Learning Environment - Collaboratively designed and developed by Johns Hopkins University's Center for Technology in Education and Applied Physics Laboratory, CHS students will step into a virtual world allowing them to study concepts by controlling and maneuvering through another place and time!

Teacher Media Cart- The technology nerve center of the classroom, this cart brings powerful learning tools to every student and classroom. A teacher cart has a projector, speakers, document camera, laptop and may also include I-Panels and docking stations.

Document Camera – The successor to the overhead projector, this powerful tool allows teachers to project moving and still images. Teachers are no longer limited to projecting two dimensional images and once an image is captured the teacher or student can then annotate the image.

Tablet- A Bluetooth enabled tablet that allows the teacher to move freely around the room while maintaining control of the media cart computer. In turn, the teacher can hand the tablet to students so they may, more fully participate in the daily classroom activities.

I-Panel- A pen activated touch screen allows students and teachers to write on documents for the whole class to see.

Student Response System- Often referred to as “clickers”, are devices used to engage all students in the learning process. Each student uses a remote control to answer questions posed by the instructor. The software captures, tracks and charts individual response enabling the teachers to engage the students in deeper learning.

Tablet, Headphones and Microphones- Students and tutors work one-on-one across great geographical distances to explore math concepts.

Promethean Whiteboard- An interactive whiteboard is an engaging tool for teachers and students.

Laptops – Students and teachers use laptops to access internet, local resources, teacher assignment folders and their private folders. Laptop Mobile Carts have allowed the technology to move to the students.
