The Last Crossing by Guy Vanderhaeghe
Set in the late 19th century, The Last Crossing is the story of three well-off English brothers: twins Simon and Charles Gaunt and their elder sibling, Addington, a former soldier and an arrogant scoundrel. At the behest of their dictatorial father, Charles and Addington travel the prairies of the U.S. and Canada in search of sensitive Simon, who has disappeared. Much of the novel concerns their journeys--bottles of port and claret rattling in their wagons--through Indian country with a cast of intricately drawn, fully realized characters.

The Essays of E.B. White by E.B. White
DESCRIPTION - A collection of his greatest essays.
TRIVIA - It's a signed, first edition that I bought from a bookstore in Pittsburgh.
MY THOUGHTS - I have to read the essays sparingly because I want to save most of the book to read this summer when we stay at Great Pond, Maine,
where White wrote Charlotte's Web and an essay that I teach every year about the father/son cycle of life called "Once More to the Lake".

Rococo by Adriana Trigiani
"I haven't had much time to read lately and when I can grab a moment, I reach for anything by Adriana Trigiani. She's one of my favorite authors."
Rococo is about Bartolomeo di Crespi, a bachelor decorator in the New Jersey town of Our Lady of Fatima. In order to accomplish the renovation of the local church, he must negotiate a host of eccentric characters and outlandish intrigues from New Jersey to Europe.
