New Town High School Dance Program << Performances & Events >>

About Us:
Since the school opened in 2003, New Town’s Dance Program has    quadrupled in size, to include Dance I, II, III, IV, and Dance Company. Our syllabus and repertoire include all genres of dance (Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Composition and Choreography). While classes provide rigorous dance training, there is also a focus on Dance History, Anatomy, and Stage & Theatre Fundamentals.

Achievements:
Each year our Dance Company proudly represents New Town High School at the Baltimore County Public Schools Dance Festival. For the last two years, New Town has also been chosen to perform at the Maryland High School Dance Showcase. In 2006-2007, when the All-County Honors Dance Ensemble was founded, four New Town students (Kaylin Miller, Jacquice Davis, Andrea Rice, and Chanel Jackson) were chosen to perform with this elite group, under the direction of Stephanie Powell.
