Mathematics

The Mathematics Department is continuing its efforts to support and remediate students who have taken Algebra I but have not yet passed the HSA: Algebra/Data Analysis Assessment.  The implementation of a new initiative for the Class of 2009 students will begin in November 2007.  Each Mathematics teacher will have a small advisory group containing 4-6 Class of ’09 students.  The advisory groups will meet at a variety of times, for example, during lunch, during the teacher’s planning time, or after-school.  Teachers will identify specific areas of weakness and provide activities/exercises to improve the necessary areas.  If you have not received documentation of your son/daughter's scores, please feel free to contact the guidance department or the department chair of the subject you are concerned about.

An alternative option is for students to enroll in Baltimore County’s on-line HSA Help course.  This on-line course and resources cover the content students need to know for the HSA tests.  Please see the attached flyer for additional information.
