Centerpiece Competition
The following students placed 2nd in the centerpiece competition at the Future Educators of America 2008 conference.

Brian S. submitted a drawing related to the theme Engineer Your Future Become A Teacher and it was published as note pads for all participants at the conference.
Tiara F., Angel G., and Ashley R. received honorable mentions for an essay written on whether or not the school day or school year should be extended
Ashley R. and Dominique C. also attended the conference participating in several workshops.
FEA travels to California
Four students in Future Educators of America traveled to San Diego with Ms. Maddox and Ms. Parker to attend the FEA National Conference and met Erin Gruwell in person (Freedom Writers is based on her story).
fEA places in Centerpiece Competition
Ms. Maddox’s Future Educator’s of America students competed at the state level at UMBC. We had two winners! Overlea FEA Chapter won third place in the Scrapbook competition and 2nd place in the Centerpiece Competition at the Future Educators of America 2007 conference. Congratulations!
