The career and technology education department has had a very busy second quarter.  Students in Mr. Callas’s class utilized their desktop publishing and printing skills to cheer up our service members who are serving in Iraq.  Students designed and printed holiday cards which were mailed to Kirkuk Airbase in northern Iraq, the airmen who received the holiday cards were most appreciative of the support shown by Overlea's students.

Mrs. Ranieri's students also took the time to write and to make holiday cards which were also sent to Kirkuk, Iraq where Mr. Callas’s son recently completed a tour of duty.

Students in the second year graphics program collaborated with Mrs. Ranieri's students by developing digital portfoliosMr. Callas's students individually tutored Mrs. Ranieri's students on designing, writing, and proofreading digital portfolios utilizing presentation software.

The next project will be another collaborative effort as both groups of students will produce class memory books.  This will give Mr. Callas's students an opportunity to show off their production printing skills while providing Mrs. Ranieri's students an opportunity to learn about digital printing and production.
