Hi. Yesterday we took delivery of a new washer. Last night when I got home my house smelled of bleach. I asked my son, Matt, why. He told me he took up the old vinyl flooring that was under the washer and bleached the floor because there was mold. Later he was going to do his laundry. I told him to wait until the new washer was hooked up. He told me it was!
I asked who hooked it up and he said "I did."
I said "What?!"
Then, he told me, "Mom, it's not that hard. I learned this stuff in school; how to read manuals and other stuff."
I asked who taught him this and he said,"Mr. Schisler."
Thank you so much for teaching Matthew other stuff!
Sincerely,
Matt's Grateful Mom

Subject: Wonderful Students!
Dear Ms. Parker,
I just wanted to take the time and tell you what wonderful students you have in your school!
I did Career Presentations in Nick Callas’ classes on November 21st. Unfortunately, you were out that day for me to tell you in person. The students were engaging, respectful and showed me some of the great work they are doing in Mr. Callas’ class.
You should be very proud of your students. I go into a different high school everyday and can assure you that you have some of the best students out there! I look forward to coming back to your school very soon (I am working with Ms. Wesner to present to her classes). By the way, the office staff was very gracious as well. One woman gave up her coffee cup for me! I will certainly arrive with “treats” on the next visit! I look forward to meeting you on my next visit.
Sincerely,
Michele
Dear Miss DeFeo,
Hello there. This is Mike K. I went on the Kenwood website to see which teachers were still there when I was there. The only one I recognized was Mr. Fitch. I noticed you were not listed so I emailed him and he told me you were at Overlea now. How long have you been there? I thought you would be at Kenwood until you retired.
It's hard to believe it's been 20 years since I left Kenwood. What have you been up to? What's been going on in your life? It's been quite a few years since I last talked to you and would love to catch up. As for myself, I'm married and have been so for 7 years. No children of my own but I do have a 14 year old stepson. I'm living in Abingdon in Harford County. I'm still with the city police department working in the Southeast distrct during the midnight shift. I've been with the department for 17 years. Hopefully, only 3 more left until retirement, then we are planning to move down to the Florida Keys.
As I said before, I would like to catch up with you. Maybe over the holidays you and your significant other and my wife and I could meet up for dinner one night. My treat. If not, or if this email falls on deaf ears there's just a few things that I feel that I have to say to you. First thing is "Thank You" for what you do. I don't think I ever told you that not only as a teacher but just being yourself. You were a positive influence in my life. Your sense of reponsibility and the way you treat people really rubbed off on me and has stuck with me to this day. You never treated your students as if you were better than them because you were "the teacher." You treated us like adults, even though we were just teenagers. But, if we screwed up you were always there to let us know it. You were more of a friend than a teacher. I think one of my fondest memories was when I was out for 6 weeks with a highly contagous case of mono. You came over to my house unannounced to see how I was doing and brought me my favorite candy. No other teacher even picked up the phone to call. You didn't have to do that but you did and it meant a lot to me.
I know when we did a print job in your class everything had to be perfect before you would send it out. I guess you can say that you are a perfectionist. That trait of yours has also rubbed off on me. Unfortunately, my wife would not thank you because it drives her up the wall.
Your passion for adventure has opened a whole separate chapter in my life. The after school ski trips you would take us on. The white water rafting trip. These are things that I would have probably never done if it wasn't for you. This has also led me to do other things such as bobsledding and my latest and greatest passion, SCUBA diving. I don't think I would have ever ventured out to do these things if it wasn't for your influence.
There's so much more that I could go on with but all and all I just want to thank you. I hope we can get together, I think you would really like my wife. Well, I have to run now. Hearing from you is much anticipated.
Take Care,
Mike
P.S. I was looking at your pictures online on your website. You look like you have'nt aged a day since 1987. You look the same. How do you do it?
