Dear Students and Parents,
Summer
vacation is always an exciting time filled with enjoyable activities. It is
also a terrific time for resting and relaxing with great books. In support =
of
our continued commitment to literacy and improving reading achievement, CMS=
requires
student participation in reading enrichment assignments.
Students,
work together with your parents to select
two books, ONE FICTION and=
ONE
NON-FICTION, that interest you as well as are appropriate for your read=
ing
ability. Both books should be new to you and not ones that you have previou=
sly
read. Attached is a list of suggest=
ed
titles from which you may choose. You may, however, choose selections that =
are
not listed.
Once
finished your books, select and complete two of the assignments on the
“CMS Summer Reading Book Projects” list. There are many options=
, so
choose projects that interest you. These
assignments are due and will be collected and graded by your language arts
teacher on September 30, 2009. You may also count both selections as
part of your Strive for 25.
