MISSION

We believe all children can and will display through authentic teacher engagement responsible and cooperative behaviors with the ultimate goal of learning effective decision-making skills that will make students successful in middle school, high school, and beyond.

VISION STATEMENT

Cockeysville Middle School strives to produce students who achieve high levels of academic performance. All students will demonstrate the ability to integrate and apply knowledge. To achieve effective academic goals, we promote the use of interdisciplinary teams in a relevant rigorous curriculum. Partnerships among parents, students, and staff will support this student-centered environment.

  • Using the curriculum provided by the Baltimore County Public Schools as a vehicle, we will equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively transition to high school, helping them to assume a greater responsibility for their own future.
  • We will promote a learning environment that recognizes and celebrates the multicultural and ethnic diversity of our students and our school community.
  • We will provide students with opportunities to use current and emerging technologies.
  • As they learn about self and society, we will provide opportunities for students to develop self-respect, self discipline, and appropriate life skills.
  • The middle school experience will provide a safe and orderly environment in which students develop a realistic and positive self-image as well as explore their aptitudes, interests, and special talents.
" We will embrace multiculturalism and celebrate the richness of the varied backgrounds of our student body.
  • We will recognize and meet the challenges of varied learning styles and abilities in our student body.
  • We will promote the development of social skills and teamwork through classroom activities, extracurricular activities, and clubs.
  • We will build a sense of values and pride through peer mediation, guidance counseling, and support services.
  • We will encourage our parents and community to take an active and positive role in the life of our school.
  • We will create a workplace environment designed to attract and retain superior and diverse staff selected for their ability to motivate, educate, and serve.
