Supply List - 2009-2010: Grade 6
General Supplies: (feel free to buy these right away)
- Loose leaf paper
- 3 Ring Binder— (2 inches works best)
- Pencil Case
- Pens— (blue, black and red ink)
- Pencils #2 (6 pencils for the homeroom teacher)
- Highlighters
- 2 packs of binder dividers
- Ruler
- 2 pocket folders
- Colored pencils
- Protractor
- 1 marble composition book
- 2 boxes of tissues (give to homeroom teacher)
- Calculator - see notes
- Dry erase markers (low odor)
- Dictionary (stays home)
- BCPL library card (home)

Additional Information
- Special Area (art, music, gym) supply lists will be distributed individually (due to the variety of specials and student schedules).
- A calculator is recommended for home use ( TI-30X IIS) , GT students may opt to use a TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Calculator
- Please wait to label materials. Teachers will help students label folders and notebooks as well as set up their binders during the first week of school.
- Please make sure that all backpacks and binders fit inside the student lockers. Bookbags with wheels usually do not fit. Students need to be able to store all of their materials in their assigned locker.
- You do not need to bring all supplies to school on the first day. 6 th graders should bring your backpack, binder, dividers, some loose leaf, pens and pencils, paperwork that needs to be turned in, summer reading and tissues.
- Parents are encouraged to replenish supplies each quarter to make sure students have materials needed for each class.

Supply List - 2009-2010: Grade 7
Students will need the following supplies:
1. Gym uniform - See PE Supply list
2. Three-ring loose-leaf notebook (2-inches thick)
3. 8½" x 11" wide notebook paper
4. Dividers
5. Marble composition book
6. Book Covers (sold in school store)
7. #2 pencils (mechanical pencils and lead encouraged) and erasers
8. Blue or black ball-point pens
9. One highlighter
10. 12" English/Metric ruler
11. Protractor
12. Texas Instrument graphing calculator is recommended for home use for students in Algebra I (TI-83, 83 plus, or 84)
13. Scientific Calculator is recommended for home use for students in Algebraic Thinking or Pre-Algebra classes
14. Graph paper
15. Two boxes of tissues (give to homeroom teachers)
16. Red ball point pens
To be kept in lockers until requested in class:
1. Colored pencils
2. Glue stick
3. Transparent tape
4. Scissors
Not required, but recommended:
1 pack of AAA batteries (for calculators) - give to math teacher

PLEASE NOTE: Neither white-out nor permanent markers are permitted. Thank you for supplying the materials necessary for your child to have a successful school year. Please check after each quarter to determine if replacements are needed.

Supply List - 2009-2010: Grade 8
The grade 8 team is anxious for our students to enjoy a positive start for the school year. We have compiled this list of supplies each student will need for classes this year. This is a preliminary list of supplies, and students may have to obtain some additional materials once school starts. We ask that your child have these supplies by Friday, September 11, 2009 for optimum success.
- one large three-ring binder
- English/metric ruler
- supply of #2 pencils
- supply of blue or black pens –- no other colors or pastels
- several red pens
- two highlighters
- four packages of notebook dividers
- a graphing calculator is recommended for home use for students in Algebra I and Algebra 2 (TI-83, 83 plus, or 84)
- two new packages of AAA batteries, one for science and one for math
- book covers for all textbooks--please use the JUMBO size Book Sox for math textbooks
- notebook paper –- 8 ½ x 11 wide-lined ( no spiral notebooks)
- good erasers (no erasing fluid is allowed)
- 2 marble composition books
- 1 two-pocket folder (for English class)
- 1 set of colored pens or pencils
- 1 glue stick

- 2 boxes of tissues (to be given to the homeroom teacher)
- 1 bottle Purell or other hand sanitizer (to be given to the homeroom teacher)

Supply List - 2009-2010: Physical Education
Required for physical education:
- A Cockeysville Middle School Physical Education Uniform, shirt and shorts.
- Appropriate shoes for activities and exercising, no cleats, flip flops, dress shoes, boots, etc.
- Appropriate clothing for cooler weather, sweat shirt and sweat pants.
