Jump Rope Marathon
Leaps into the History Books
On April 18th, Dumbarton students helped fight
heart disease and stroke by participating in their annual Jump
Rope For Heart. Over 160 students participated in this year's
event, raising more than $13,000 for the American Heart Association.
Students created group themes, costumes and posters to get team
spirits high and keep them jumping for over 2 hours!
Jump Rope For Heart is a program designed to
promote physical fitness and heart health through the fun activity
of jumping rope. The event is co-sponsored by the American Heart
Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education,
Recreation and Dance.
This year's event was coordinated by Ms. Kelly
Theoharis with assistance from Mr. Dan Overtoom and the PhysEd
staff.
