What happens at the end of the year??? picture of a man and a question mark

ESOL Test:
· It is given in May.
· The test is on speaking, reading, and writing.
· You must pass the test before you can exit the ESOL program.
· You can't really study for the test! Learning in your classes everyday is the best way to do well on the test. Study hard and practice speaking English.

Exiting Students:
· Dumbarton will give you an exit certificate, and an envelope with very important papers you will need to take to your new school.
· After the end of the school year, call your new school and make an appointment to register. You will need to bring the papers from Dumbarton AND your lease for proof of residency.

Students remaining in ESOL next year in 7th or 8th grades:
· You do not need to do anything.
· You will get mail from Dumbarton in late August telling you about your bus.
· You will get your schedule on the first day of school.

Students remaining in ESOL next year in 9th grade:
· You will go to one of the ESOL high school centers.
· Bus 221 will go to Owings Mills High.
· All other busses will go to Parkville High.
· The teachers are expecting you. You do NOT need to register.
· You will get mail from your high school center in August telling you about your bus.

Students entering Dumbarton in ESOL in 6th grade:
· We know you're coming! You don't have to do anything.
· At the end of August, you will get a letter from Dumbarton telling you about your bus stop and time.
· You will get your schedule on the first day of school.

If you have any questions,
please call Mrs. Williams at 410-887-2810.
