Visit to Martin Airport

The girls interviewed 4 "Rosey the Riveters"
as well as two men; a Martin Aircraft factory
worker and a WW2 pilot.

A group of 8 eighth grade girls
are researching the history of the people who
lived and worked for the Glenn L. Martin Airport
in Middle River for their Oral History project.
These girls expressed an interest in local history
and learning more about Glenn Martin's innovative
ideas in the aviation industry in the 1940s.

shown was used in the filming
of the movie "Top Gun"
The girls will take 3 trips to
the airport and aviation museum in order to research
their archives and interview men and women in
order to complete their project which is to be
done by mid-May.
