Loch Raven Academy follows the standard and Gifted and Talented curriculums developed by the Office of Social Studies to provide real-world experiences for students at each grade level. Students actively develop the ability to locate, organize, interpret, analyze, explain and evaluate primary and secondary sources. The Baltimore County Essential Curriculum aligns with the Maryland Voluntary State Curriculum.
The grade six the curriculum focuses on the cultures found in regions of Latin America, South and East Asia. In grade seven, the curriculum continues the global focus by examining the regions of Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Eurasia. Finally, grade eight examines the United States from Pre-history to Reconstruction.
