A STEM Academy is a community with a shared vision and clear mission for developing and maintaining excellence in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education. It includes teachers, students and parents. Community partners such as corporations and civic groups are also members of the Academy. Shared, distributed leadership is encouraged through the support structure of administrators, and lead teachers who work together with the staff to define the focus of their school community’s Academy.
