Identifying Gifted and Talented Students:
"The Association for the Gifted (TAG) refers to the
identification process as searching for "hints and
clues" of giftedness in all of our students (CEC,
2001). This means that we must learn to recognize
the indicators of potential that our students show
us and that we must nurture this potential when we
see it. To find students who have historically been
overlooked and underserved by gifted education we
must be proactive in searching for abilities that
can be masked or hidden (Natl. Research Council, 2002)."
