Three BCPS teachers have been selected as finalists for the BCPS Teacher of the Year Award. They are Beverly Folkoff , a third grade teacher at Relay Elementary School; Talven Pearsell, a math teacher at Sudbrook Magnet Middle School; and Abigail Karey, a vocational/life skills teacher at Maiden Choice. The finalists were chosen from among a record-setting 169 school teacher of the year nominees.

The Board of Education of Baltimore County is engaged in a national search for a new superintendent for BCPS. The BCPS community is invited to take an online survey to identify the educational priorities and leadership qualities they would like to see in the next superintendent. The survey will be open through Saturday, April 1.

BCPS parents or guardians of children receiving special education and related services are asked to complete the 2022 Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey by May 19. The information you provide will help guide the state’s efforts in improving special education and related services in public schools.

BCPS has developed an implementation plan for the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. The Blueprint is a multi-billion dollar investment in Maryland schools and seeks to "transform Maryland's early childhood, primary, and secondary education systems to the levels of high-performing systems around the world.
